The first chapter of real life Christianity is about the Bible. Thateverything we do and every thing we believe is based on the teachings of Bible. It gives some history about the origins and the design of the Bible but then the main objective of the chapter is explain where our English Language translations of the Bible came from and the impact the Bible and Christianity has had on our western culture.
Chapter two is a basic theology lesson about God. How his names used in the Bible and his attributes explain who he is, what he is like, and why we can trust him and put our trust and our entire lives in his hands.
The third chapter is about God’s special creation, mankind. How we are
created in God’s image and what that means. The instincts he gave us for
survival in earth and the uniqueness he created in each of us so that not any
two of us is alike. It explains how our specialness and our uniqueness give us the opportunity and the ability to fulfill a purpose and a destiny that was
created especially for each of us by God himself.
But then in the fourth chapter we learn that sin came into the picture and
destroyed the plans and purposes of God and separated us from him because the special relationship with him that we were designed for has now been severed. We are now born with a sinful nature that has damaged the
specialness and uniqueness God created in each of us and that is the
basis of all the bad choices and destructive behavior that now plagues each
of our lives.
Chapter five tells us what God did to change all that and bring us back
into the relationship with him we were designed for. It talks about Jesus, who he is and what his life on earth, his death, and his resurrection accomplished for each of us when we choose to believe in him. In this chapter every one who reads this book is given the opportunity to accept Jesus if they haven’t one so already and then explains what happens in each of our lives when we are “saved” or “born again.”
Then in Chapter Six we learn about the Holy Spirit, the part of the
Godhead that presides over our lives now. The way God has chosen to walk
with us, to take care of us, to guide us, and to strengthen us, to help us
survive our everyday lives as we live here on earth.
Finally, in Chapter Seven we learn how God wants to “Change the way we think.” How to actually take the theology, the doctrine, and the teachings of God found in his word, and actually apply them to our lives. To go from just surviving and just getting by, to flourishing. To living the abundant and prosperous life that God promised in his word is available to everyone.

Here is a timeline of the events that have lead up to the publication of real life Christianity:
(Start at the bottom and work your way up)
July, 2009 - Here we are in July. My book is off to printing and a release date has been set for Oct 27, 2009. The exciting thing though is that the book is available right now for everyone. It can be purchased from Tate Publishing's web site by clicking on the link below. It is also available for download. If you go to Tate's website at tatepublishing.com you will be able to purchase real life Christianity. We are also very excited to announce the very first book launch party and book signing will be Sunday evening, Aug 16th, at 6:00 PM, at Family Worship Center. It is located in what used to be the Bryman building in Gorst. If you would like to, you can pay for a book ahead of time (we have order forms available) and I will sign as many as I can before hand to keep you from having to stand in a long line. This time before the official release is what my marketing representative calls "niche" marketing. We will try to build excitement for the book through appearances in churches and other ministries for speaking, teaching, and book signings. This is a very exciting time and we are hoping to see lots of people at the book launch. If you can't make it for some reason, you can order the book from Tate. I hope when you read it you will get as excited about it as I am and share it with everyone you know.
June, 2009 - The final edit was completed back in April and then it was on to lay-out. That took just about the entire month of May but finally the lay-out person and I were satisfied. Then the first week of this month I received my final proof, the very first full color complete copy of my book. It was beautiful! I was so excited! Many of you saw it at that time and know how great it looked. I sat down over the next few days and read it through completely to make sure every thing was perfect. There were a few minor issues and when I sent the book back to them they were fixed with no problem. Now I am waiting for a call from my marketing representative.

April, 2009 - Here is what my cover designer came up with. In her description of it she said, "I wanted to create a design that would reference an every day walk with God. I did so by incorporating familiar imagery. I also wanted to appeal to all Christians, especially Christians new to the faith. These two items, the pair of converse shoes hugging a Bible emphasizes the importance of incorporating God into every step we take." I think she did a great job. Don't you? I love it! I think it represents very well the central theme of my book, that Christianity is about our everyday real life.
March, 2009 - real life Christianity is now in the editing process. The first edit has been completed. I will be receiving a final edit soon and then the layout will be decided. Right now the book cover is in design. I'm excited to see how it comes out. My goal is to have the book so appealing no one will be able to walk by it at the store without picking it up. I desire the book to be applicable to all lives, the person seeking answers, the person beginning a life of Christianity, the person who has been a Christian for awhile but needs more, and the seasoned Christian who wants to be refreshed and excited. People are going to need to buy more than one copy because they will want to share real life Christianity with their family and friends. It is going to be a great book for churches to give out at the services. I know God's annointing is upon this book and I believe he is going to use it to bring life to many people.
October, 2008 - As many of you might have heard, we recently received the exciting news that we have finally found a publisher for my book "Real Life Christianity." The publishing company is Tate Publishing in Mustang, Oklahoma. The editing, cover design, and lay out process is scheduled to begin in February of 2009.
March, 2007 - I teach a class at Family Worship Center from time to time called the Basic Principals of Christianity. It is designed to teach new believers the basics of our Christian faith. I have felt for sometime that I needed to sit down and write it out in book form but when I tried I had no idea how to start. Then in October of 2006, I decided to give it another try and this time I knew exactly how to do it. I began to write and didn't stop for the next five months and finally in February of 2007, I was finished. Of course over the next few months I continued write and rewrite and rearrange and I am very satisfied with how it is all coming together. I began with the idea I was putting together a book for new Christians just like the class I had been teaching but as I was writing, I came to the realization that it was a something every Christian needs to read. That is when I came up with the title of my book "Real Life Christianity" It lays out the basics of our Christian beliefs. But it's not just about our doctrines and theology, it's about how they apply to our everyday life. It's about talking you life from wherever you are now to all new levels in your Christian walk.
I hope everyone takes the opportunity to read real life Christianity.
